Google began in 1996 as a research project by two Stanford students, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, who developed a search engine called "BackRub", later renamed "Google". Officially founded in 1998, Google grew rapidly with innovations such as AdWords, Google Maps and Gmail, which changed the Internet experience. Big acquisitions like YouTube and Android expanded Google's reach, and it introduced hardware like the Chromebook and Pixel. In 2015, Google reorganized under parent company Alphabet Inc. Today, Google is a leader in AI, cloud computing, and digital advertising, constantly pushing the boundaries in tech.
